Not Your Typical Bootcamp

Your first thought on seeing the word bootcamp may be “I don’t want to roll around in the mud being shouted at!”

We understand that we really do because we don’t want to roll around in the mud being shouted at either 😉. 

That is why, when we created RISE Fitness, we decided that ‘state of the art’ tech would be central to success and help us get results for the most important people, that’s you, the members.

The tech not only helps us personalise the outdoor bootcamp sessions but also motivate and challenge members to boost everyday activity.  This is crucial to success, read on…

Heart Rate

We wanted to make each session that you attend as meaningful as possible as the outdoor bootcamps are twice per week and this time investment by you needs to pay off.  By monitoring heart rate using the MZ-3 live during the session, the RISE coach understands when each person is working at the right intensity. That can mean reducing intensity as well as upping it, it’s not all about ‘maxing out’ for a session, it needs to be balanced.

Activity

As part of the Myzone offering there is a concept called Myzone Effort Points, MEPs.  These can be used to get you more active.  So a fun challenge to hit 700 MEPs for the week can involve everything from shopping to swimming as when you are moving about you are building up MEPs.

Eating

Our eating app that connects to your RISE membership is resource for helping you gradually change your eating habits.  Changing what you eat does not have to be a miserable experience and when your palate adjust you will wonder what all the fuss was ever about! 

Progress Tracking

It is important to understand where you started and how it is going.  We use a progress tracking form in the app to provide feedback and also to help personalise your fitness plan. Not everyone is the same and some may wish to hit the activity hard and ignore the food and some the other way around.  You need to buy into your own journey and our progress tracking really helps.

Community

Most of the research around changing your habits emphasises the importance of peer support.  Our RISE app can help this with the coach encouraging all in their efforts and you can also encourage your fellow members make change and get more active.

There is also a global community using Myzone with leagues and badges everywhere.  You can take part in this bit or not, it’s up to you but we have found it to be a very effective activity booster.
