5 Things to Look for in a Fitness Franchise to Buy

5 Things to Look for in a Fitness Franchise to Buy

When you have made up your mind to invest in a franchise opportunity, what should you be looking for to maximise your chances of success?  In this article we cover some key points that will help you decide.

What is Franchising?

First, let’s agree what a franchise is. According to the OED the definition of a franchise is:

“The authorization granted to an individual or group by a company to sell its products or services in a particular area. Hence franchiseefranchiserfranchisor”

RISE Fitness franchise was developed over the last 12 months in response to changes in the fitness landscape and the changing demands of the fitness consumer.  There are five main areas to consider when buying your franchise business, read on..

No. 1 Is the marketplace that the franchise is in growing?

Are you investing in a sector that has a bright future?  Part of the attraction of the fitness franchise industry is that the health and wellness marketplace is growing at a rate of 8.7% per year. The pandemic has brought health concerns to the fore and people want to be healthy and to live better for longer.

No. 2 Does the franchisor team have experience in the marketplace?

The team behind the franchise should have all the knowledge and expertise to help, guide and support you through buying and launching your franchise.  The RISE team has deep experience in the health & fitness sector having developed and launched brands in both private chains and franchises.

No. 3 Does the business model make money?

It is important that you examine the business model and truly understand it.  At RISE the emphasis is on recurring revenues and having a product that means people can see value in paying monthly and becoming part of the RISE community and all it has to offer.  This means you can move away from selling your time on a one-to-one basis.

No.4 What makes this business stand out?

The franchise should have something special that makes it stand out from competitors in the same field. RISE Fitness has done this with a blend of fitness sessions in the outdoors with a comprehensive online component that boosts health and activity when members are not at the sessions.  By using Myzone heart rate tech, progress tracking and online eating plans, you can fully support your members’ journey 7 days a week without it taking 7 days a week!

No.5 Franchise System

Have a good look at the franchise partners and systems when you are considering buying.  How strong are they and do they all point to success?  At RISE we work primarily with Virtuagym for our app and Myzone for the heart rate tech and activity boosting challenges.  Talking to other franchisees is a good way to find out how robust systems are but  for RISE Fitness we are very early in so that avenue will develop over the next few months.

All Reasons to Buy a RISE Franchise Plus…

RISE has a flat fee model, we do not take a huge percentage of your revenue, we are flexible, and the model can be adjusted for your location and marketplace.  Our franchise is built to work with you in a few territories, this is so you can enjoy both good earnings and a great work/life balance.
