Not Your Typical Bootcamp Franchise
The team behind the RISE Fitness franchise set out to create something that would suit the post-COVID landscape. For us in the fitness industry, it was clear that some things would revert to normal after the pandemic, after all lots of people do like going to the gym. But it was also clear that some things would change permanently.
We wanted to create a fitness franchise that encompassed:
- Outdoors
- Technology
- Out of session activity
- Progress Tracking
- Eating plans
- Work/life balance for franchisee
All delivered by expert coaches, so we did!
Outdoor Activity
The first lockdown with its one hour a day outside activity was a revelation to lots of people. They could enjoy the local environment by walking and cycling and gain benefits by being more active. It was time efficient and enjoyable. That enjoyable translates as it is good for everybody’s mental health to be outside. Plus it is safer and we are likely to have other times where outdoor is preferable to indoor.
Technology
By partnering with ‘fit for purpose’ software providers our RISE members benefit from:
- Live in-session heart rate monitoring
- Activity challenges out of session
- Access to a global community of people getting active
- Eating plans with food library and recipes
- On demand branded workouts that can be done anywhere, anytime
- Personalised feedback on progress
And most importantly the RISE franchisee can deliver this in a time efficient way. Our system of cohorts means that the face-to-face time is blended with online support. This means that the unsocial hours part of personal training is brought under control. You can deliver great results with less face-to-face and more online communications and challenges.
Out of Session Activity
This is an incredibly important part of RISE fitness franchise. We all know that people’s results are governed by what they do when they are not with you, and the Myzone tech allows each RISE coach to help members boost their activity across the month. This helps drives results, and we know results make members ‘sticky’ and improve word of mouth.
Progress Tracking
There is a reason why Weight Watchers is so successful and part of it is the weekly weigh-in, it really helps people focus. Here at RISE, we have adopted a weekly member generated progress form that the coach reviews. The feedback can be delivered via a quick video or email or if the members wants a Zoom call.
Eating Plans
The eating app that connects to each RISE membership is a resource for helping members gradually change eating habits. Packed with pre-prepared eating plans and guidance this is a great way to persuade members that changing what you eat does not have to be a miserable experience.
Work/Life Balance for Franchisees
One thing we wanted to achieve was to create a more balanced approach to work for personal trainers. So many PTs burn out due to an intensive work schedule that includes very early mornings and then late into the evening. They just leave the industry disillusioned
By blending on and offline we believe that a great living can be made with just 4 face-to-face sessions per week. The online support can be done at chosen times and so the RISE coaches time can be scheduled across more manageable working hours.
RISE Fitness is not a £5 a time bootcamp, it is positioned more towards the premium end of the market and is membership based. This means earnings are more stable.
